Taber Wind

Peter, co-owner of Sage Stone Ventures and principal of Enovation Energy, was initially hired on a six-month consulting assignment to act as the interim VP of Energy Project Development at ENMAX. The consultancy was extended to a total of four years. During this time, Peter oversaw and/or lead the development of several projects representing more than a gigawatt of installed capacity.

Subsequently, Enovation acted as lead developer for the 80 MWac Taber Wind Facility which utilized the first utility-scale Enercon wind turbine generators (WTG) in Canada—the 2.3 MW direct-drive E-70 WTG—which were re-rated by Enercon for the project.

Enovation selected the Enercon WTG over the competition as it achieved the lowest levelized cost of energy (LCOE) of the turbines evaluated. Enovation led the negotiations with the then-owner of Enercon, and was instrumental in Enercon’s expansion to Canada.

After four years of working with ENMAX, Peter’s initial executive search for the VP of Project Development resulted in a recommendation of a candidate who was hired and went on to work with the company for 14 years.
