We’re an independent renewable energy development and advisory firm specializing in project development, finance, mergers and acquisitions in the renewable energy, new technology, and power generation sectors. We specialize in green and renewable power and energy.

By working with each stage of the industry—from technology concepts through to the launch of utility-scale power plant projects—we bring hands-on expertise to cutting-edge technology, helping to pave the way to a greener tomorrow.

What we’ve done

Our founders, Jim and Peter, have decades of experience in the power generation sector, having worked together as Sage Stone since 2007.

Alongside our associates and partners, we’ve developed, invested in, constructed, and now operate over 3,000 megawatts (MW) of power generation projects representing $5 Billion USD of capital investment across the Americas and around the globe over the course of our careers in the energy sector.

What we’re working on

Currently, our active development pipeline of renewable energy projects comprises some 968 MWac of photovoltaic (pv) solar, run-of-river hydroelectric, and wind and energy storage projects. 

We are actively engaged in projects across Canada and the United States, and welcome conversations with interested co-development partners and equity investors with an interest in early-to-mid stage, utility-scale, renewable energy projects.

Today’s technical innovation, disruptive technology advances, exponential efficiency gains, tax equity changes, and investment tax regulations, are creating price competition that is steadily driving down capital costs of renewable energy equipment. This not only benefits the electricity ratepayers but is also driving the advance of renewable energy and lowering the cost of renewables below that of conventional fossil-fueled power generation.
